Day 59: Stir Crazy

December 8th, 2019

Kilometers: Off-Trail

Levin Holiday Park

It rained really hard early this morning. I was thrilled to be in a bed and not a tent for it.

Nobody was in a rush to wake up this morning and I think I finally woke up around 9.

Just after that, there was a lull in the rain and Charlie, Peter, Matthew and I went into town to go to New World and McDonalds.

We got snacks and fixings for dinner before Matthew and I went to McDonalds for breakfast.

The rest of the day was spent laying around the cabin, snacking, and watching tv. The rain started and stopped continuously throughout the day giving nobody motivation to try and go to town again.

The holiday park had a game room where I once again beat Peter in ping pong.

At 630, I started cooking dinner. We wanted to lose some weight from our dinner bag so we opted to take the Cous Cous and gravy and make it better using ingredients from New World.

We ended up having a lemon cous Cous with herbs and olives and sautéed lemon pepper chicken with a chicken gravy. It was easily the best Cous Cous we have made so far on the trip unsurprisingly.

Today was one of the longest feeling days on the trip as we all started to feel cooped up in the cabin after just a few hours. The day seemed to last for forever. Getting back to the trail tomorrow will be a much needed change of pace.
